BRAIN BOOSTING COGNITIVE SIMULATION

THE GAME

Finding Thabo pictures may look like regular scenes from everyday life, but each one is layered with hundreds of research-based activities that get kids’ brains humming.

These cognitive stimulation exercises help create millions of neural pathways that build foundations for lifelong learning - all through play!

It's an integrative approach, so the activities do loads of things at once to stimulate young minds and encourage active learning.

Learn, play, thrive!

When children look for objects in Finding Thabo pictures, they learn amazing skills.

They learn about colours, shapes, numbers and letters.

They learn how to investigate, tell stories and make connections.

They also develop critical skills like:

  • pattern recognition
  • visual closure
  • problem-solving
  • working memory
  • critical thinking
  • better self-control

Let’s find out why…

Scenes from daily life

The Finding Thabo scenes deliberately reflect children’s daily experiences, like getting dressed, going shopping or going to the seaside. Children can relate to these scenes, identify with problems, and are curious to find out more about what is happening in each picture.

In donating or purchasing a Finding Thabo product, you’re helping to change the lives of future generations.

It’s called “Scaffolding”

Each scene builds on the learning outcomes of the previous one.

This process is called, “scaffolding.” Activities can be upgraded or downgraded depending on a child’s learning level.

As an example, in the first picture children will concentrate on counting objects that appear once, twice or three times, but by the final picture they will be doing far more complex mathematics activities like repeating patterns or sorting multiple objects into the correct order.

Helping Pediatric Therapists

The activities in our 10 pictures target typical developmental deficits in South African children. The activities can help boost the brain power of all kids, irrespective of their backgrounds.

The Finding Thabo programme is also an effective early indicator tool for any developmental red flags.

Quote is going next to helping pediatric...

As a Speech Therapist, I find that Finding Thabo is a fantastic activity for children.
This includes using it with typically developing children and children with various developmental needs. Because the pictures are relevant to the South African context, it makes it much easier for children to relate to.”
